Enhanced features

We built upon our MVP by enhancing core save functionality, implementing key improvements to drive personalization and engagement. Our refined price intelligence algorithms delivered more accurate pricing data, seamlessly integrated with saved itineraries to enable informed booking decisions.

Our roadmap included:

  • Collaborative Sharing: Enabling users to share and receive saved items, establishing the foundation for collaborative trip planning

  • Grouping: Automatically organizing content by destination to simplify navigation

  • Contextual Monetization: Incorporating relevant recommendations and beginning to thoughtfully monetize the Saved list surface

Results

  • 10% of searchers actively engaged with the share feature

  • 3x higher booking conversion for users with saved items

  • 43% increase in return visit rates across all platforms (compared to industry average of 27%)

Q4 & Beyond
VISION

Skyscanner’s long-term vision focuses on enhancing search, booking, and planning with smarter, more integrated features. Building on insights from earlier phases, Skyscanner will continue evolving its platform to enhance collaboration, personalization, and post-booking engagement. The transition from individual to collaborative planning will make trip organization seamless, while deeper personalization—driven by saved preferences—will ensure more relevant recommendations. Post-booking engagement will be expanded to provide ongoing value beyond the initial reservation. As these features develop, they will be refined based on data, performance metrics, and user feedback, ensuring Skyscanner remains a dynamic and responsive travel companion.

Key Features

  • Killer Combos: Offers travelers more flexibility by combining flights with stopovers in exciting cities—often for the same or lower price than a direct flight.

  • Collaborative Lists: Travelers can save, share, and compare trip ideas with friends and family, streamlining group planning.

  • Interactive Map: A visual tool that helps users explore saved locations, understand their destination layout, and navigate seamlessly before arrival.

  • Trip Comparison: Side-by-side comparison of saved trips enabling travelers to evaluate options based on price, duration, amenities, and other key factors.

  • Predictive Pricing: Advanced algorithm that forecasts future price changes for saved itineraries, helping travelers book at the optimal time.

Biggest opportunity
Lifetime Customer Value

Travel planning is an act of collage, not curation. If we give travellers a canvas, a base of operations, we can start to unlock the emotional, identity and meaningful value we’ve talked about in previous conversations.

If we create a container that captures all the artefacts that make up the travel experience, we can know our travellers better, serve them longer, and engage with them more effectively than anybody else.

We just need to give travellers an excuse to hang out in our store.
